About Us and Our Philosophy
Welcome to Occupational Therapy Surrey, an independent community interest company dedicated to serving and supporting the local community by making occupational therapy available to everyone.
Our team of professionals brings a unique combination of lived experience and qualifications to deliver a client-centered, caring service. We believe that no one should feel unable to meet their own needs or unsafe in their own home due to a lack of advice, education, adaptations or equipment.
We are passionate about what we do and are committed to providing you or someone you care about with the highest quality of care. We are here to help people get back to doing the things that are important to them, as quickly as possible.

Our professional occupational therapists specialise in practical problem-solving to help you with any difficulties you may have in performing daily tasks, mobility, hobbies, employment, or volunteering.
We provide valuable support, such as reports or letters for reasonable adjustments at work or in education, home adaptations, and funding for new equipment.

Case Study
- Client A has painful stiff hands that had become more problematic as they have got older
- It had become increasingly difficult to prepare a meal - open things and grip items
- They contacted us and we arranged a 1 hour home visit to assess the tasks they needed to do
- The OT met the client and their daughter to gain a full understanding of the problem and the clients preferences and expectations
- Client A was then sent a report outlining the suggested solutions discussed, including enough information to allow them to choose and purchase the items they needed
- On this occasion the OT was not involved in helping the client purchase equipment as their daughter helped them
- The client was unsure of how to clean one item, so called us and were were able to explain without needing to make a follow up visit

Terms & Conditions
All advice and services from Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC are subject to the following terms and conditions
1.Introduction
Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC is a professional occupational therapy consultancy that specialises in delivering personalised solutions for our clients. Our aim is to:
a)Assist individuals in improving their ability to perform daily activities and therefore enhance their capacity to engaging in activities they enjoy and value.
or
b)Assist organisations to improve the service they offer by being more inclusive of individuals with impairments.
By engaging our services, customers agree to the following terms and conditions. We reserve the right to terminate our services at any time and without providing a reason.
2. Enquiries and Triage
Customers are encouraged to contact Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC with their specific requirements. We conduct a thorough triage process to determine if our services are suitable for your needs. We are only able to consider cases that fall within an occupational therapy remit and our expertise. If your need is outside of our remit, we may suggest other organisations more suited to your needs. Choosing to engage with them is solely the individual’s choice, Occupational Therapy Surrey take no responsibility for services provided by another organisation.
3. Consent
Written consent will be obtained by Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC before carrying out any assessments. By signing the consent form the customer is agreeing to our terms and conditions. This may be signed on a customer’s behalf if they lack the capacity to consent.
4. Home Visit and Assessment
Upon confirming compatibility, we will arrange a home visit with the necessary individuals present. During this assessment, our team will evaluate the client's current performance of daily activities and identify areas of challenge and for potential improvement. The therapist may require pets to be removed from the room to maintain their wellbeing.
5. Provision of Report
Following the home visit, we will provide the client with a detailed report that encompasses all the necessary information to facilitate the purchase of equipment or make appropriate changes. This report is intended to guide the client in implementing the necessary adaptations, or to inform a third party of the clients’ occupational needs. It will consist of possible solutions; however, it is not exhaustive and other options may also exist.
6. Payment Obligations
Clients will be invoiced at the pre-agreed rate. Clients are expected to make payment for the use of our services within 10 working days of receiving the invoice. Failure to meet this payment obligation may result in additional charges or termination of services. Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC believes in transparency regarding costs. These are published on our website along with the amount of time we will spend with the client. We reserve the right to adjust our charges appropriately if the client exceeds the time allocated.
7. Advice and Education
Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC provides advice and education exclusively to our clients. We do not supply physical items or directly assist with the purchase of recommended equipment. Clients are responsible for purchasing, installing, assembling, and using the recommended items in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
Please note that Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC operates independently and is not affiliated with any brands or suppliers of goods. While our recommendations are personalised, there may be alternative brands offering similar products. The final decision rests with the client, and we do not receive any benefits or incentives for favouring one brand over another.
8. Confidentiality and Data Protection
At Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC, we strictly adhere to data protection policies, ensuring utmost confidentiality for all client information. Clients' personal information is solely used for delivering our services and will not be shared with third parties without prior consent. While we are able to communicate with family members or others involved in our client's care, we require the client's permission to do so.
9. Disputes and Legal Duties
Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC operates in-line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Care Standards Act 2000 and inline with Health Care Professionals Council professional standards. Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be initially considered within the organisation. Clients should raise concerns directly with us to seek an amicable solution. Should this not be sufficient further concerns should be raised with the relevant public bodies.
10. Amendments
Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC reserves the right to amend their terms and conditions at any time. Any modifications will be notified to clients in advance of them agreeing to engage our services.
